Leena Patel joined Flex FX Productions in 2006 as a student and progressed through the training programs and evolved into a true leader and is now one of the leading Asian artists in the UK as well as one of the directors of Flex FX Productions. Leena is a true perfectionist with incredible talent and drive. She is now creating and proposing various projects to take Flex FX and British Asian talent to a new era of art, dance and entertainment.

For the past 2 year Leena has extended her vision further through her work with Flex FX Productions where she has been choreographing and teaching for mainstream events, shows and productions. She choreographed the opening for ‘Dhamaka 2007’ at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, and more recently ‘Essence’, Leena has developed her versatility further in urban dance, salsa and commercial Bollywood dance. Now as the Director of Dance, Leena carries a key role in the company; ranging from developing fresh, young talent to directing productions and creating unique masterpieces in dance and performing arts.

Leena has been training in Bharatanatyam under smt Chitraleka Bolar since the age of eight and she completed her arangetram in 2001. To complement her dance skills, she also trained in Kathak for eight years, under the tuition of Sonia Sabri. Over the years Leena has further enhanced her versatility by completing many dance workshops and classes, varying from Kalari to contemporary dance.

She has performed extensively in many of Chitraleka and Company’s youth group dance-drama productions, such as Panchatantra, Ramayana, Holi, Krishna-Katha; and given numerous Bharatanatyam performances locally and nationally. In 2004 The Story of C was Leena’s first professional tour with Chitraleka Dance Company. She has worked in collaborative projects with Birmingham Royal Ballet, and she has extended her artistic ability beyond dance; venturing into the acting field through Sampad productions such as Layla Majnun (2003) and Dido and Aeneas (2005). She worked with Moby Duck Theatre Company, and completed two national tours: The Story that went to Sea (2004) and Tiger Trail (2006).

Leena also took part in Sony television’s Boogie Woogie Dance competition where she won the first UK national championships. On commission of an environment-based dance piece, Leena and her colleague were invited by UNESCO to perform at the World Urban Festival in Vancouver, Canada; 2006. On receiving a positive reception, Leena went on to developing her individuality further.
